It all started with the ’63 turquoise Volkswagen my dad bought me for $75 in 1972. For $50 in parts, we got it running. I drove it throughout California (and to Indiana and back the summer of 1973). From my hometown of Alameda, through my days at UC Santa Barbara, then back to the College of the Arts in Oakland - I’ll always remember the bug as the very first car that I owned and truly loved. Though it’s long gone now my passion for cars and bikes persists, and to this day I jump at the opportunity to create car art for festivals and events.
